Nonprofits and Funders Have the Same Goal in Mind

Image of nonprofit leader and a donor meeting to discuss the organization's needs and how the donor can be involved in investment-level giving.

Recently, I had the privilege of being a guest speaker at a gathering where both nonprofits and funders were present...here was the highlight moment…

Nonprofits were asked, “What would you like to see MORE of from funders?”

Funders were asked, “What would you like to see MORE of from nonprofit organizations?”

Their core answer?

It was the same.

🎯Each wanted to build deeper relationships with the other.

Yes.

⭐Nonprofits wanted to be able to get in the room with funders and have real conversations.

⭐Funders said they wanted direct and real conversations about the organization’s needs.

One funder even said, “Please follow up if you don’t hear back from me. I’m human and I’m just busy. Follow up SHOWS you really care about partnering with us.”

Please take this to heart. Let’s work together to remove the ‘us vs. them’ mentality.

We have the same goal in mind.
