This month's NEW article is called:
Relational Fundraising Isn’t Radical;
It’s Just Practical Fundraising That Works

Today my contribution to Forbes Nonprofit Council is all about being PRACTICAL when it comes to fundraising!

Google the term “fundraising strategy,” and you’ll likely get pages of results filled with sponsorship decks, campaign templates and event ideas. Annual galas, deadline-driven appeals, tiered donor levels—these are the familiar tactics that dominate fundraising conversations. But here’s the thing: This is not what effective fundraising looks like.

The nonprofit sector has, in some ways, tricked us into thinking that fundraising is inherently transactional. And while many organizations say they want to fundraise in a more relational way, few can articulate what that actually means—or how to operationalize it.

The truth? Fundraising doesn’t need a revolution. It needs a practical paradigm shift.
